Restylane®
If you don't believe that injectables are soaring in popularity, just ask one of the more than 5.5 million people who were treated with them to eliminate fine lines and wrinkles in 2005.*
Helpful For:
Restylane® improves the skin structure and provides the volume and fullness associated with young supple skin. Thin lips, smile and marionette lines around the mouth and the deeper creases and wrinkles in the lower face associated with mature skin can all benefit from temporary fillers.
Benefits:
A simple highly-effective treatment, with instantaneous results and little if any downtime.
What to Expect:
- A Skinscan analysis and consultation with a Skin Specialist to determine if a Restylane® treatment is right for you.
- Immediate results that last four to six months.
- No allergy test is required.
Things to Consider:
Post-treatment swelling and/or bruising may last for up to a week. Pain can be easily managed with a basic pain reliever such as Tylenol. Mineral make-up is excellent at covering any bruising. A complimentary make-up consultation is available upon request.
What You Need to Know:
What is Restylane®?
Restylane® is a hyaluronic acid based injectable filler. Hyaluronic acid plays an integral role in your skin's structure, providing the volume and plumpness associated with young, supple skin. Skin's hyaluronic acid building block fills the space between collagen and elastin fibers in the skin, holding in moisture and maintaining skin's volume. As skin ages, levels of natural hyaluronic acid decrease due to time, sun exposure and other environmental factors. When injected just under the skin's surface the hyaluronic acid fillers temporarily replenish the skin's volume by replacing deteriorated support layers of the skin.
What is the difference between Restylane® and BOTOX® Cosmetic treatments?
Different parts of our face age in different ways. Forehead frown lines, and crow's feet appear as the decades of repeated facial expressions such as laughing, smiling, squinting and frowning begin to take their toll. BOTOX® Cosmetic treats the lines, wrinkles and creases associated with these repeated facial expressions, referred to as "active" or "dynamic" wrinkling.
The middle and lower portions of our face; including the areas around the nose, lips and mouth are affected by gravity, fat, hylauronic acid and collagen loss. Fillers such as Restylane® plump up the skin structure, restoring a youthful, smooth appearance. Deeper creases and wrinkles in this area occur when there is decline in hylauronic acid, a natural building block that fills in the space between the collagen and elastin fibers found in the skin that hold in moisture and maintain volume. Declining levels of natural hylauronic acid and collagen result in a deterioration of the support layers of the skin which leads to deep creases and wrinkles. A combination of a BOTOX® Cosmetic, Restylane® or a Microlaser Peel® procedure may be recommended to obtain the optimal result.
BOTOX® Cosmetic minimizes the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles by decreasing the muscle activity that causes lines and wrinkles. Restylane® improves the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles by adding lost volume under skin in the affected areas.
