What is the difference between Chemical Peels and Microdermabrasion treatments?

Increasing cell turnover and sloughing off dead skin cells results in a younger healthier complexion and is a benefit of both treatments. Microdermabrasion treatments physically remove dead skin cells for a gentle exfoliation. Chemical peels dissolve the intercellular matrix that prevents newer, fresher skin cells from rising to surface. While both treatments offer similar results, the mild stinging, redness and post treatment flaking associated with chemical peels may not be advantageous for some.
